A person generally uses a journal as a way of expressing themselves. It is highly regarded as a therapuic instrument. A person is considered journaling if they transfering their feelings, thoughts or emotions and storing them in a single place.

Physically keeping a journal will involve writing in a book or keeping a collection notes or papers.

In one's mind keeping a journal will relief stress and anxiety while helping to keep negative thoughts out of the individuals mind.

Emotionally keeping a journal allows people to express feelings a creative way while minimizing potential harm that can accompany strong emotions.

Spiritually journaling can keep records of culture rights of passage, appropreiate times to perform certain cultural activities or tradtions.
